Rank algorithm update from google weeded out a lot of good or bad websites, in the name of providing more relevant search results for it’s users, google engineers published blog post which indicated there were 11.8% organic search results will be affected, put it this way, almost 12% of google search results are useless or of low quality. They planned and started the update about one year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, but almost all the ranks promoted by articles and blog posts were not affected, some of the keywords even ranked better than before, it’s obvious that linking campaign the old way is the thing of past, probably due to link spamming sites being downgraded by google.
What is old way of link building any way? a large percentage of SEO firms will do this, they will get links from any websites which accept adding links, the content on those sites will never be updated, and most of them are useless, the name of link spamming sites is justified. New google algorithm most likely will punish these link spammers, all the links on those websites will have the same fate.
A few real world examples will help to explain what I said. In the very beginning, I didn’t know better, I needed to rank the keyword, Tow Chain, it was old way of link building all the way, lately I figured that every site in the campaign had way too many links, worst yet, those sites had no content at all. It all boils down to content, so if you create great content, not only people will love to read your stuff, so do the search engines. It’s never too late to build good blogs for business purpose, such as this interesting blog, sue havens toys , I didn’t put too much effort into it from start, but I never stopped posting, it’s no way this site will rank, right?, actually, no, in reality this site is doing pretty well for more than a few search terms. Now you can see, quality article marketing is much better than plain link building. Now imagine you have your own blog network, something like Chains and Binders, you will have the power to push any sites up in search engines.
Bottom line is that you should create great content, publish and share with people, promote your business with the content, this strategy will prevail in short or long term. Whatever you do, you will need persistence and patience, nothing will automatically improve overnight, be it your business or search rankings, keep writing, publishing, sharing and creating, you will see the day of success.
