Short while ago google had changed their ranking algorithm, in the hope of offering it’s search users better results, google engineers published blog post which indicated there were 11.8% organic search results will be affected, put it this way, there are about 12% of google search results are considered low quality by google itself. The update was initiated more than a year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, but almost all the ranks promoted by articles and blog posts were not affected, a few of these keywords ranked better than ever, it’s almost a sure thing that plain link building loses all it’s attraction, at least in the eye of google.
So what exactly is linking campaign the old way? a lot of marketing companies did and are doing the plain link building, they will get links from any websites which accept adding links, the only updates on those websites are the new links, almost all of them are garbage, the name of link spamming sites is justified. The latest google update will definitely downgrade most if not all of these sites, all the links on those websites will have the same fate.
Let’s check out a few examples. When I got into online marketing long time ago, I needed to rank the keyword, http://www.mfrexpress.com/towing-tow-chain-c-24_82.html, of course with old way of link building, a lot of sites I used had too many links, and those sites had only links, no real content at all. I would give credit where credit is due, this linking strategy worked, finally the rank improved a lot, the honeymoon lasted until google changed it’s mind. Here is another keyword, chain pullers, we put the link in relevant context, with very few plain links, you can imagine how this keyword ranks. So contextual link wins this time, what about future? Actually this is all about content, as long as you dole out high quality content, your rank will improve over time, since search engines are another kind of readers. How do you do it? Writing articles and building blogs, for instance let’s examine this one, kids clothing , I build it as a hobby and kept adding good or mediocre content, and to my surprise, I have high ranks for some of competitive keywords. As far as SEO concerned, article marketing with great content is the way to go. Now imagine you have your own blog network, something like Grade 80 Chains, you will have the power to push any sites up in search engines.
Remember content is king, you just need to create content, share the content with people, in the mean time advertise your business with your content, your effort will reward you handsomely in the end. The virtues, persistence and patience, are essential for your success, nothing will automatically improve overnight, be it your business or search rankings, now all we need to do is to give our love for creating and sharing great content and not to worry about the search results every day. One of the best articles directories is EzineArticle, a new article will be indexed and cached in less than an hour, and some popular blogs will get your post indexed in minutes, there venues are ideal for promoting your site, I believe you should see for yourself, say this one, http://www.mfrexpress.com/, good writing, interesting content, indexed and cached, all these points make it perfect for SEO.
By the way, we have hot social media now, no one can afford to not using them. For wordpress blogs, I recommend twitter tools, then go ahead register a new twitter account and app, configure your twitter tools prpperly, then every new post on your blog will show up in your twitter page, it’s easy and really useful, no one should miss this tool out.
